AJ Michalka was born in the city of Torrance in Calif. Her mother, Carrie, who is also a musician, encouraged her to be a musician. She was born in Torrance, California, AJ was inspired by her mother, Carrie, who herself was a musician. AJ spent the bulk of her early years in Torrance, Seattle, and Milwaukee. The siblings were taught the guitar and the piano in the early years. They were well-versed in the field at the age of an adolescent age. AJ was five when she began acting in her church's productions. AJ was also involved with her school's musical performances.
